# Rowflare > Rowflare is an open-source (AGPL-3.0) Airtable alternative that runs on your own Cloudflare account, one SQLite-backed Durable Object per base. Pay Cloudflare $5/month for the whole team instead of $20 per seat. Facts checked 2026-10-12: - License: AGPL-3.0 (open source). Commercial license available for closed-source embedding, white-label and client delivery (one-time fee, includes one year of updates). - Self-hosted price: $0. Runs on the user's own Cloudflare account; requires the Cloudflare Workers Paid plan, $5/month per account, unlimited users. - Rowflare Cloud: a Free plan (3 bases, 1,000 records per base) and a Paid plan at $29 per workspace per month or $290 per year, unlimited members, all features in both. - No per-seat pricing. SSO, audit logs and permissions are never paywalled. Features that are open source today never move to a paid tier. - Architecture: one SQLite-backed Cloudflare Durable Object per base; Workers serve the app and REST API; D1 stores accounts; R2 stores attachments. - Limits: designed for 50,000 rows per base; supports up to 125,000 rows per base. - Views: grid (grouping by up to 3 fields with group totals), kanban, calendar (month and week), timeline with lanes, gallery, form. - Dashboards: metric cards, bar, line and pie charts, pivot tables, a shared date range, and the records behind every number. - Automations: triggers on record created, updated or matching conditions, schedules, dates reached, webhooks and buttons; steps that create, update and find records, send HTTP requests and email (Cloudflare Email Service, Resend or SMTP), run an AI prompt, and branch; run log, retries and loop protection. - AI fields: text, choice, number, date or checkbox fields filled by a model from a prompt over other fields and images, with the workspace's own key for Anthropic or any OpenAI-compatible service (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, Zhipu, OpenRouter, Gemini, Ollama), or Workers AI on Cloudflare. - MCP server at /mcp for Claude, Cursor and other AI clients, with a personal access token: records, tables, views, dashboards, automations and grouped totals by name. - Performance at 50,000 rows (median, inside the Durable Object): open view 0.14 ms, edit cell with rollup update 1.4 ms, filter by any field 74 ms, sort 80 ms, full formula column recompute 575 ms. - Performance at 125,000 rows: edit cell with rollup update 9-12 ms, filter 405 ms, sort 406 ms, full formula column recompute 2,709 ms. - Why the free Cloudflare plan is not enough: 10 ms CPU per request and 5 million SQLite rows read per day; one filter on a 50,000-row base reads 50,000 rows, so about 100 filters a day exhaust it. - Cloudflare Workers Paid includes 25 billion SQLite rows read, 50 million rows written and 5 GB-month storage per month. - Airtable comparison: Airtable Team is $20 per seat per month billed annually ($24 monthly) with 50,000 records per base; Business is $45 ($54) with 125,000 records per base. - Import: CSV import with type inference, and direct Airtable import (personal access token with schema.bases:read and data.records:read) that copies tables, fields, records, links, lookups, rollups, formulas and attachments. ## Key pages - [Try Rowflare Cloud](https://app.rowflare.com/signup): sign up and use the free plan - [Features](https://rowflare.com/features/): views, dashboards, automations, AI fields, MCP server, each with its test record - [Test results](https://rowflare.com/verification/): automated test counts, benchmarks and hands-on scenarios per feature - [Pricing](https://rowflare.com/pricing/): self-hosted free, Cloud Free and Paid ($29 per workspace per month), commercial license - [Deploy to Cloudflare](https://rowflare.com/deploy/): one-click deploy, requirements, environment variables, costs - [Airtable pricing calculator](https://rowflare.com/airtable-pricing-calculator/): Airtable Team and Business cost by seat count vs Rowflare - [Import from Airtable](https://rowflare.com/import-airtable/): CSV and direct import, field type mapping - [Templates](https://rowflare.com/templates/): project tracker, CRM, content calendar, bug tracker, inventory - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/rowflare/rowflare) - [One-click deploy link](https://deploy.workers.cloudflare.com/?url=https://github.com/rowflare/rowflare) ## Comparisons - [All products](https://rowflare.com/compare/) - [Rowflare vs Airtable](https://rowflare.com/compare/airtable/): Per-seat SaaS: Team $20, Business $45 per seat / month billed annually.
